160 110-5500 Metallurgical hydraulic cylinder
Product Description

In the metallurgical industry, hydraulic cylinders need to cope with harsh working conditions such as high temperature, heavy load, dust, and corrosive media. The design, selection, and maintenance of hydraulic cylinders should pay special attention to the following aspects:
1. Environmental adaptability
High temperature protection:
The working temperature can reach over 200 ° C (such as in continuous casting machines and heating furnace areas), and high-temperature resistant sealing materials (such as fluororubber and graphite seals) need to be selected.
Install a heat shield or forced cooling device (such as air-cooled or water-cooled jacket) on the outside of the oil cylinder.
Dust and pollutants:
Protective covers (such as retractable dust covers) prevent iron oxide dust and slag from entering the cylinder body, avoiding scratching the piston rod or seal.
Use heavy-duty dust seals to enhance the reliability of the sealing system.
Corrosive media:
When in contact with cooling water, acid pickling solution and other environments, the piston rod needs to be made of stainless steel material or coated (such as chrome plating, electroless nickel plating).
2. Structural design and material selection
High strength materials:
The cylinder body is made of seamless steel pipe or high-strength alloy steel, which can withstand impact loads (such as rolling mill compression system).
The surface hardness of the piston rod needs to reach HRC55 or above, with resistance to wear and fatigue.
Buffer and shock resistance:
Configure end buffer structures (such as throttle valve buffers or hydraulic locks) to reduce directional shock.
For high inertia loads (such as large continuous casting machines), it is necessary to verify the fatigue life of the oil cylinder.
Leak proof design:
Adopting multi-stage sealing (such as main seal+backup seal) to prevent oil leakage caused by seal failure at high temperatures.
3. System supporting requirements
Hydraulic oil selection:
Use fire-resistant hydraulic oil (such as water ethylene glycol, phosphate ester) or high-temperature synthetic oil to avoid oil carbonization or combustion at high temperatures.
Regularly monitor the oil contamination level (NAS 1638 grade) and maintain cleanliness ≤ ISO 4406 16/14/11.
Cooling system:
Configure a hydraulic oil cooler (water-cooled or air-cooled) to ensure that the oil temperature is controlled below 50 ° C.
Filtering system:
Install a high-pressure filter (accuracy ≤ 10 μ m) to prevent particulate matter from entering the oil cylinder.
4. Installation and maintenance
Installation precautions:
Ensure that the axis of the oil cylinder is coaxial with the direction of load movement to avoid lateral forces causing seal wear.
Use ball joints or joint bearings to connect and adapt to equipment vibration and offset.
Regular maintenance:
Check the wear of the seals (recommended cycle: ≤ 3 months in high-temperature areas and ≤ 6 months in regular areas).
Clean the surface of the piston rod (to avoid dust accumulation and corrosion).
Monitor abnormal movements of the oil cylinder (such as crawling, pressure fluctuations), and promptly troubleshoot pump, valve, or pipeline issues.
